Come learn to skate! Beginner - Basic instruction for beginners wanting to get comfortable on the ice. Skills will include; falling/standing up on the ice, marching, gliding. Beginner/Intermediate - swizzles, two and 1 foot glides, backwards skating, beginner stroking Intermediate/Advanced-stroking, backwards power skating, beginner jumps & spins. All skaters must be at least 4 years old by the first lesson (1/8/2021)Helmets are strongly recommended. Bike or ski helmets are acceptable.Skate rentals are included with registration and must be checked out at the Nordic Center before each class. The programming is built around 1 "weather day" where the rink may need to be closed due to snow, frigid temperatures or melting ice. If all sessions run, there is no additional fee.   Scholarships are available for those who need them. The deadline for scholarships is 1 week prior to the sessions start. Newly added to our program inventory, adult ice skating clinics! We're excited provide an opportunity to the adults in our community to learn how to ice skate, improve their existing skills and stay moving! If you are in need of ice skates, we offer free rentals from the Nordic Center as part of the programming. There will be two groups, separated as follows:Beginners: Little to no experience, helmets are highly recommended. Come learn to skate! Beginner - Basic instruction for beginners wanting to get comfortable on the ice. Skills will include; falling/standing up on the ice, marching, gliding. Beginner/Intermediate - swizzles, two and 1 foot glides, backwards skating, beginner stroking Intermediate/Advanced-stroking, backwards power skating, beginner jumps & spins. All skaters must be at least 4 years old by the first lesson (1/8/2021)Helmets are strongly recommended. Bike or ski helmets are acceptable.Skate rentals are included with registration and must be checked out at the Nordic Center before each class. The programming is built around 1 "weather day" where the rink may need to be closed due to snow, frigid temperatures or melting ice. If all sessions run, there is no additional fee.   Scholarships are available for those who need them. The deadline for scholarships is 1 week prior to the sessions start.
